The Union Education Ministry has recently made significant changes to the CBSE 10th and 12th board exams, aimed at promoting a more comprehensive and inclusive approach to education. Starting from the academic session 2024-25, students in classes 9th and 10th across the country will be required to study ten subjects, and passing in each subject will be mandatory. This change marks a shift from the current system where students are allowed to choose certain subjects, potentially leading to an imbalance in their overall education. The scheme, which aims to upgrade 211 schools in Chhattisgarh, was inaugurated at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium in Raipur.
Pradhan highlighted the concept of implementing 10 bag-less days in schools every year, focusing on engaging students in activities related to art, culture, and sports, among others.
Under the NEP 2020, the Ministry of Education announced the New Curriculum Framework (NCF) in August last year, which includes holding board examinations at least twice a year. Addressing the students present at the event, Pradhan inquired if they were pleased with the decision and encouraged them to retain the best marks obtained after appearing in both exams.
